Flick Drummond MP

Co-Chair

Flick has been MP for Meon Valley since 2019, having previously been MP for Portsmouth South from 2015-2017.

Flick has a wide range of experience in public service and in the voluntary sector. Recently, she was the Chair of the SE Region of the Veterans Advisory and Pension Committee, a board member of the National Citizens Service (NCS) and Voluntary Director of the Conservative Policy Forum.

Flick has been a school governor at Milton Park Primary School in Portsmouth and has a keen interest in education. She trained as a lay school inspector for OFSTED and inspected over 50 primary schools around the country.

Flick is a co-chair of the APPG for Schools, Learning and Assessment.

Emma Hardy

Co-Chair

Emma was elected as MP for Kingston upon Hull West and Hessle in 2017 and has held roles including Shadow Minister for Further Education and Universities, and PPS to Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. Emma was previously a member of the Education Select Committee and currently sits on the Treasury Select Committee.

Before entering Parliament Emma was a teacher and later a full-time organiser for the National Union of Teachers Yorkshire Midland Region. In June 2016 she became the Deputy General Secretary of the Socialist Education Association.

Emma is the Chair for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Oracy, the APPG for Surgical Mesh, the APPG for Vascular and Venous Disease and the Vice Chair for the APPF for Endometriosis.

Emma is co-chair of the APPG for Schools, Learning and Assessment.

Lord Hunt of Kings Heath, OBE

Vice-Chair

Lord Hunt has sat in the House of Lords since 1997 and has previously served as a minister in the Department for Health, the Department for Work and Pensions, Ministry of Justice, Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), as well as acting as the Deputy Leader of the House of Lords.

His previous career in the NHS, as a member of the Oxfordshire Area Health Authority, secretary of Edgware/Hendon Community Heath Council and later director of the National Association of Health Authorities (NAHA). He was the first chief executive of the NHS Confederation 1996-97 and director of the National Association of Health Authorities and Trusts (NAHAT) from its formation in 1990.

He was a member of Birmingham City Council between 1980 and 1982 and a member of Oxford City Council from 1973 until 1979.

Lord Watson of Invergowrie

Vice-Chair

Lord Watson was elected as MP for Glasgow Central in 1989, and was promoted to the House of Lords once that constituency was abolished in 1997. He was appointed Shadow Education Spokesperson in the Lords in 2015.

In 1999 Lord Watson was elected as the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Glasgow Cathcart constituency and remained an MSP until 2005, serving as Minister for Tourism, Culture, Sport and Gaelic. Previously, he was an adult education lecturer and later a full-time trade union official.
